Welcome to Exploring the Future of Philosophy
We are a group of academics, mostly philosophers, who are concerned about cutbacks to institutional philosophy, and we're exploring new and complementary ways to support the teaching and study of philosophy.
On this site, you can learn more about us, what we are doing, how you can stay in touch, and how you can volunteer to help.
At this time, we have a particular need for your help in documenting these cuts and establishing the need to respond. Please sign up to take our survey. A report of results will be sent to all who do and made available on the web as well. We appreciate your help!

October 21, 2025: MacArthur Grant: Documenting Cuts to Philosophy in U.S. Institutions of Higher Education
